Thank you for all your help with our Hope Mission clothing drive!
Give back to help those less fortunate
As the days get colder, many of us are surely thinking about those cozy winter evenings curled up in front of a roaring fire with a mug of cocoa. The harsh reality is that this ideal is not attainable for many less fortunate people in our city.
The Hope Mission:
Since 1929, the Edmonton Hope Mission has been tirelessly working to help the less fortunate by providing meals, shelter, winter clothing, addiction counselling, and youth outreach. It is a pillar of the local community and a strong representation of Edmonton's community spirit and sense of goodwill.
How you can help:
A place like the Hope Mission depends on the kindness of the community for donations. Now they're depending on the community more than ever. A warehouse fire destroyed much of the their current stock of Winter clothing, so they are now scrambling for donations in order to continue helping those who need it most during the Winter months. Over the last two weeks, we have collected lightly used Winter clothing and donations for hand and foot warmers. While this specific campaign has ended, the Hope Mission is still accepting donations so they can continue to help the less fortunate this Winter.
You answered the call:
On behalf of the entire United family, thank you for your generosity. The last two weeks have seen an outpouring of community spirit and giving. Thanks to all of you, we have collected 37 bags of Winter clothing and 2500 pairs of hand and foot warmers - which we have decided to match - to bring the total donated amount to 5000! Thank you for your support!
