EBIKE IDEAS FOR MOM
3 Different eBike Options for Mom!
With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, the perfect gift for Mom this season is an eBike. What better way to say, “Thank you Mom for all you do!” than a new electric-assisted bicycle for going on fun rides?
But which eBike is right for your mom? At United Sport and Cycle, our team have curated our 3 most popular eBikes for Mom and highlighted some of their features for you below.
Let’s take a look at some our easy-to-use and stylish electric bikes:
The Trek Verve+ 2 Lowstep eBike 2020
The Trek Verve+ 2 Lowstep is an easy-to-use hybrid electric bicycle that comes equipped with lights, fenders, and a rear rack so mom is ready to ride on her special day!
It comes in 3 different sizes (see our sizing chart at the end of this article), so you're sure to find the perfect fit for your mom! If grey isn't your mom's colour, this eBike also comes in a cherry pink-red (and we all know red is the fastest colour of bike!)
Your mom will be sure to appreciate the suspension seatpost that absorbs any bumps on the trails and the lowstep frame that makes it easy to hop on and off this eBike. This bike comes with a 9-speed cassette, which makes it great if Mom plans on tackling some more hilly terrain or gentle dirt paths.
The Bosch Active Line motor provides an extra boost—making riding exciting and enjoyable—while the easy-to-use display screen offers a simply display for viewing speed, function, battery range, and service interval indication.
Mom doesn’t need to be an experienced rider or be "techy" to love her new Trek Verve+2 Lowstep as she cruises on her neighbourhood trails or the River Valley.
Of our 3 options, this eBike is mid-range for price at $3,299.99.
The Electra Townie Go! 8i step-thru Electric Bike 2020
The Electra Townie Go! 8i Step-Thru eBike offers Mom a range of gears and Flat Foot Technology™ that allows her to ride upright and place both feet on the ground when she's stopped. In fact, the Townie’s low center of gravity, full leg extension, and increased comfort are quite similar to a recumbent bike at the gym!
When it comes to pedal assistance, the Townie Go! 8i comes with four mode levels of electric boost coming from its mid-drive motor: Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo.
She will have peace of mind knowing she is in control of her riding experience safely and stylishly. You will appreciate knowing she has 8 gears to choose from, and 30-110 km of battery range depending on her boost mode and terrain.
At $3,399.99 this super-stylish and comfortable eBike is the most popular of our 3 options, and is just $100 more than the Verve+ 2.
The Townie Go! 7D Step Thru 2020
The Townie Go! 7D Step-Thru is a stylish, simple and fun eBike that also comes with Flat Foot Technology® so that Mom's feet can rest flat on the ground when this bike comes to a stop.
It comes equipped with 7-speed cassette and with integrated lights and fenders making it the perfect bike-around-town bike for Mom.
It also comes with a cushy, ergonomic, and shock-absorbent elastomer saddle, and a more easy-to-manufacture hub-drive motor (as opposed to a mid-drive motor). This hub-drive motor brings the costs down considerably compared to the other 2 mid-drive motor eBikes that we've highlighted above.
If Mom is planning on using her bike on mostly-flat, paved paths, the Townie Go! 7D Step Thru may be the bike for her!
At $2,149.99, this is one of the most affordable eBikes for Mom and it still comes packed with tons of features and high-quality parts!
Sizing Mom for an eBike
Sizing Mom for an electric bike is so easy!
The Trek Verve+ 2 comes in 3 sizes with recommendations based on rider height and inseam (see sizing chart below), while the Electra Townie Go! 8i and Townie 7D Step Thru both come as one-size-fits-all.
This makes these eBikes easy to purchase online for easy delivery or curbside pick-up.
