  • Embroidery may be dry-cleaned; however, extreme care should be exercised when dry cleaning
  • Special care must be taken when dark shades are dry cleaned
  • Avoid use of pre-spotting agents

Ironing

  • Embroidered fabrics should always be ironed on the reverse side
  • It is recommended to iron embroidery between two pieces of cloth
  • It is not recommended to wet embroidery before ironing or to use steam

Sublimation

First Wash Only

We recommend the following procedures be used on newly received uniforms to prepare them for use

  • Wash a medium sized load of uniforms in warm water (<105oF) with 1-2 ounces of mild detergent (pH under 10), on an extra-large laundry setting for 3 minutes and then drain
  • Do not overload the machine
  • Re-wash using the same setting without detergent for 3 minutes and drain
  • Re-wash again in warm water (<105oF) with 1-2 ounces of mild detergent (under pH 10) on an extra-large laundry setting for 3 minutes and drain
  • Wash a final time using the same settings without detergent for 5 minutes and drain

Laundering Prep

  • For best results and maximum wear, lauder uniforms immediately after each use
  • Uniforms need to be inspected for normal wear and tear, so repairs can be made prior to washing to prevent further damage
  • Close any Velcro openings to prevent hook and loop from snagging material during wash
  • Remove belts and pads, if possible, from uniform before laundering
  • Do no allow uniforms to lay on itself or in a pile when wet because perspiration can cause fading for colour bleeding

Pre-treating

  • Pre-treat stains with pre-wash, stain remover or protein release agent while uniform is still damp for no more than 30 minutes
  • DO NOT SOAK UNIFORMS CONTAINING NYLON OR NYLON SPANDEX BLEND

Washing

  • Wash uniforms in warm water (105+/-5of) as soon as possible after each use, before stains can set
  • A mild detergent (pH under 10.0) should be used
  • Do not overload the machine
  • Use recommended amount of detergent as per detergent manufacturer
  • RINSE UNIFORMS IN COLD WATER (80+/-5OF)
  • DO NOT use Chlorine Bleach
  • DO NOT use fabric softener
  • Wash white uniforms separately from coloured uniforms

Drying

  • Remove promptly form washer
  • Turn uniform reverse side out before machine drying
  • Tumble dry on low setting (<140oF)
  • NOTE: excessive heat can cause garment shrinkage, discolouration, degradation and cracking of lettering
  • DO NOT use dryer sheet

Dry Cleaning & Ironing

  • DO NOT dry clean or iron uniforms.

Heat Pressed

First Wash Only

  • Let your heat press sit without washing for at least 24 hours
  • The adhesive on the transfer is heat activated. The adhesive needs time to cool without interruption. Putting into the washer and dryer immediately may cause the heat transfer to crack and peel.

Washing

  • Wash and dry garments inside-out. By turning inside-out, you are preventing rubbing of transfer that could cause peeling prematurely
  • Choose cold or warm water. Temperatures should not exceed 178F. High temperatures can weaken the adhesive on the heat transfer causing peeling and cracking
  • Use mild detergent. Detergents that are “GREEN” can be too harsh for the adhesive.
  • Avoid bleach and fabric softeners! This will help the heat transfer to last as long as possible

Drying

  • Remove promptly form washer
  • Dry on a low/tumble setting or hang dry
  • As with washing, high heat is not recommended. If possible, hanging to dry is best! Hang drying will minimize any wrinkles you see in the heat transfer after washing.

Dry Cleaning

  • DO NOT DRY CLEAN!
  • The harsh temperatures and chemicals do not work well with heat press. This isn’t typically something you have to worry about unless you are applying to work uniforms or something similar.

Ironing

  • Do not iron directly on heat transfer
  • The heat transfer will melt or burn if heated directly
  • If you must iron the garment, only use low heat and place a towel or cloth over the transfer
