There is nothing better than lacing up your new custom skates that are made specifically for your foot and game. Here at United, you can choose your favourite pair of skates from Bauer, CCM, or TRUE. There are many reasons why players invest in custom skates - from fit and function, to cosmetic. Options include, but are not limited to, customizing your fit, eyelets, colorway, flex rating, liner, tongue, laces, blade, and even adding your name and number on the boot.
Custom Skate Turnaround Time
Wait times vary in season to off season. On average, the wait time for custom skates is 5-6 weeks, however, it is always better to order them sooner in case adjustments need to be made or if there is a higher volume of orders before the hockey season takes off. As well, you can contact us to get up to the minute wait times.

United's In Store Skate Process
Bauer
Bauer Hockey has paired with Volumental, an industry leader in custom footwear.
After deciding Bauer Hockey is the way you want to go, one of our experts will scan your feet on our 3D Fit Scanner. The scanner will consider all of your measurements and identify the length and volume of your feet and suggest a size - with this information we recommend trying on a pair of stock skates to confirm the fit.
Based on the measurments from the scanner and the data collected by our fit experts you will decide to either go with the Vapor or Supreme family. Staff will consider things like stride length and play style to help you decide the best family for your game.
After deciding on a family, it is now time to build your skate. There are many customization options like: flex, tongue, eyelet construction, color, and personalizations like adding name and number.
The skates are then placed on order and a full deposit is taken. Average wait time for custom skates is 5-6 weeks but wait times can vary depending on the point in the season.
When your skates arrive our skate experts will then assist with heat fitting and checking the alignment as well as discussing any profiling or sharpening needs.
CCM
CCM Hockey has been building skates since 1899 and are used by skaters from beginner to pro. CCM offers two levels of custom skates and has three skae families: Tacks, Jetspeed, and Ribcor.
After deciding CCM Hockey is the way you want to go our skate experts will work with you to understand your needs - playing style, performance goals, etc. Next is the scan - using CCM’s 3D Fit Scan process with a transparent footstool and their CCM 3D Fit Scanner 4+ app to take the measurements of your feet. Based on this data gathered by the scanner and our experts a family and size is recommended - with this information we suggest trying on a pair of stock skates to confirm the fit.
It is now time to build your skate. There are many customization options like: flex, tongue, eyelet construction, color, and personalizations like adding name and number.

TRUE Hockey has the benefit of years of experience with their purchase of VH Custom Skates, Scot Van Horn has been building custom skates for over 20 years and is an industry leader.
TRUE Hockey offers 2 levels of custom skates depending on your needs. By considering your individual feet length and volume our experts will help pick which level is right for you - with this information we suggest trying on a pair of stock skates to confirm the fit. Using the same facial recognition technology found on the apple iPhone our experts will take a full scan of your feet. Our experts will also take photos and note any potential fit issues such as pump bump, extra wide toe box or any other potential hot spots.
The skates are then placed on order and a full deposit is taken. Average wait time for custom skates is 5-6 weeks but wait times can vary depending on the point in the season.

By building a custom stick you get exactly what you are looking for - you choose the features of the stick and the stick is built to your specs. There are many options to choose from when customizing a stick such as length, flex, color, pattern, and shaft construction.

Bauer and CCM
Whether you want a custom helmet from Bauer or CCM or the process is similar.
Come into United Sport & Cycle (no appointment necessary) and speak to anyone of our hockey experts. They will work with you to understand your playing style, performance goals and can help answer any questions you may have. They will then do a 3D scan of your head (scanning takes 3-5 minutes).
Based on the data from the scanner and the information gathered by the staff member, we will then go over your custom options. There are many customizable options like: shell color, strap color, and number personalization.
The helmet is then placed on order and a full deposit is taken. Average wait time for a custom helmet is 6-8 weeks but wait times can vary depending on the point in the season.
When your helmet arrives our helmet experts will then assist confirming the fit and adding any after production items like a visor or cage.
